Greetings!
and welcome to your Fuzzy Friday open thread for the Street Prophets group. Of course, there are no membership requirements for participation and as usual I plan on being elusive. No promises whether or not I'll be able to be online when this thing goes live. Your contributions are always noticed and appreciated though-- even if at a somewhat later hour.
I have a few photos to share from an exhibition about the history of ballooning in the Czech Republic that I saw last year. It made me think of fellow Prophet Ojibwa's wonderful photo diary visits to technical museums. My diary isn't nearly as informative, but I hope you'll enjoy looking at it.
So just jump over the orange hairball...
Here there be hovers...
The Exhibition Center at Holesovicewas built for the 1891 World's Fair.
Earlier this year, when I was getting some prints made, the printer pulled an enlarged print of a drawing out of a drawer to get at my prints underneath. When I tried to find more information about the "Prague Ballooning School" the only links that I could find were either hidden behind paywalls or links to the original drawing being sold at auction. Thus my addition of "Small World" in the title of the diary. When I saw the pictures from a distance I thought they might be a storyboard. I commented on them to the printer saying, "I just started a painting with a balloon in it." Kinda cool to rediscover that drawing.
This is an open thread.
