What with Easter weekend (shrug; brainwrap is a Jew, I was, but became a Buddhist), brainwrap getting sick and going to the doctor (links below), and the fact that there is, in fact, no news about signups today, I'm going to look at who is making up the news instead.
The Republican echo machine, of course, starting with Fox WhateverThatIsCuzItsNotNews.
What?
You didn't think they would give up because of a few little facts, did you? They are still trying to destroy Social Security and Medicare, even if they pretend that they are "fixing" what isn't broken. They are still trying to shred the Constitution. Or possibly the Declaration of Independence, because they can't always tell the difference.

You get shingles by having chickenpox decades before. Disease, stress, or aging can weaken the immune system so that the virus flares up, usually briefly and only once.
You knew this was coming...now I'm sick.
Best wishes from all of us for a speedy and complete recovery.
We don't know when brainwrap will feel like doing the numbers, or even when there will be significant numbers again. So you're stuck with just me and what I can dig up for a bit.

Forbes: The Latest Problem With Obamacare Could Cost You
Oh, boo-hoo, workers who are fired and go on the evil COBRA instead of the wonderful exchanges cannot get off COBRA and onto the exchanges until the next open enrollment period. And COBRA can be quite expensive, especially for the unemployed, and totally unforgiving of any late payments.
OK, whose fault is that? I'll give you one guess: Obama's, for not allowing people to enroll at any time, so that they can wait until they are sick to get an ACA-compliant insurance policy. And thus break the insurance market.
Because it can't be the fault of the employer who might direct fired employees to COBRA rather than the ACA. It can't possibly be the fault of Republicans telling people not to sign up on the exchanges, or making it as hard as possible to find out what coverage is available.
The article claims that you can get COBRA coverage retroactive to the day you were fired, but not Obamacare. So if you have appointments, or an illness or accident right after the end of your job but before you can make other arrangements, you can get trapped.
So says Deborah Jacobs. But earlier in the article she advised going to the HR department immediately to see how much coverage is left in the current month, for which premiums have been deducted from your pay. So there is no actual reason to get trapped in COBRA, as long as you get on the problem right away.
Sufficient unto the day is the loony thereof. I have also found some good news, which will go into another Diary.
