We already knew Sarah Palin was unhinged. But she offered even more evidence of this yesterday at the NRA convention. In criticizing the Obama administration's approach to terrorism, she suggested that we should "baptize" terrorists by waterboarding them.
Discussing "enemies who would utterly annihilate America - they who'd obviously have information on plots," she said, "Oh, but you can't offend them, can't make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen."
"Well, if I were in charge," she continued, as the audience erupted in applause at the prospect, "they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists."
She criticized the administration for pursuing a national security strategy that, in her estimation, pokes "our allies in the eye, calling them adversaries, instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies."

here--and pile up the dislikes.
So there you have it. Palin is on record as supporting a procedure that any reasonable person would consider to be torture--a procedure that would essentially lower us to al-Qaeda's level. And it's a procedure that, in just about every state, would be a crime. For instance, Delaware pediatrician Melvin Morse was convicted back in February of waterboarding his own daughter. A few weeks ago, he was sentenced to 3-5 years in prison, and will more than likely never be able to practice medicine anywhere in this country again. If it's wrong to do this to a child in the United States, it's wrong to do this to anyone. Period, full stop.
It cannot be stated enough--this woman could have been a 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency. With this speech, Palin revealed that she is morally unfit to hold any office whatsoever. Also.
