Susan Page of http://www.usatoday.com/... just printed one of the biggest lies in journalist history and we can’t let these liars get away with it. They have this screaming headline on their front page:
Here’s their argument:
“In the 2014 elections, registered voters are inclined to support the Republican candidate over the Democrat in their congressional district by 47%-43%. That 4-percentage-point edge may seem small, but it's notable because Democrats traditionally fare better among registered voters than they do among those who actually cast ballots, especially in low-turnout midterms.”
What? Check this out from 2010:
The GOP has best midterm edge in 2 decades? Really??
The RealClear Politics final average for 2010 was um, +6.8 cons. Gallup was +15 and Pew was +6.
So yes, Susan Page and the USAtoday are liars.
Need more? How about we fact-check the USAtoday with um, the USAtoday:
Aug 30, 2010
“Poll: GOP takes unprecedented lead in midterms
Republicans lead Democrats 51% to 41% on a generic ballot heading into November's midterm election, the largest gap in favor of the GOP in Gallup's 68-year history of tracking the critical political benchmark.
The Republican lead has steadily increased from 5 percentage points earlier this month to the 10-point spread, suggesting Republicans have the upper hand and momentum.
Previously, the largest GOP advantage measured by the poll, 5 points, was found in 2002 and 1994. Republicans made significant gains in the U.S. House both years.”
So if the USAtoday found that a 10-point GOP Generic advantage was the “largest gap” in 68 years, then how can a 4-point gap be the largest in two decades?
Is the 4-points they found today larger than the 10-points they found in 2010? If the RealClear average was 6.8 in 2010, how can a 4-point lead be the largest in two decades?
They are liars with an agenda!
And yes, I know they changed pollsters but this is utterly ridiculous.
