Say it isn't so!
Cliven Bundy - the Nevada anarchist, racist, and world-class government moocher who has admitted to illegally grazing on federal lands for 20-plus years - is also a hoarder. And a really good hoarder at that.
Some might call him a junk collector. But that is beside the point.
Checking property records on the website of the Clark County Assessor, if one enters "Bundy Revocable" in the name field, three parcels are displayed. In particular, parcel #034-00-001-034 is the plot where Bundy and his family (families?) - and their junk - reside. Aerial photos of the Bundy ranch at 3315 Gold Butte Rd. in Bunkerville, and adjacent federal land, can be seen here: http://gisgate.co.clark.nv.us/....
On the upper right of the outlined Bundy parcel, scattered among countless unidentifiable debris piles, are what look like dozens upon dozens of old appliances, trailers, and at least 30 (identifiable) junked cars.
This is profoundly disconcerting; the Bundy family, the amazing American success story themselves, who, so gloriously and Americanly, have been stewarding their (and public) lands since - they say - the 1870's (really 1948, according to Nevada official records), have a mountain of junkpiles so grand, that it spills right out of the Bundys' and onto Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public property.
I know! Say it isn't so!! The Bundys? Trashing land owned by We The People right next door to their homestead? Who'd have thought?
Surely Mr. Bundy, the states' rights champion and sometimes poster-boy, is keeping his junk-collecting, salvaging & general hoarding above board with Nevada, right?
Surely his facility has been permitted as a salvage yard through the state of Nevada, hasn't it?
The online poster Chilidog, sharing a concerned citizen's inquiry into the matter with readers of the Fogbow forum http://www.thefogbow.com/... also posted the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection's (NDEP) response:
Please be advised that the Solid Waste Management Authority in Clark County is the Southern Nevada Health District. Therefore, the State of Nevada/Division of Environmental Protection would not permit a salvage yard at that location. You may contact the Southern Nevada Health District/Environmental Health Division at (702) 759-0600.
The property in question Parcel Number 034-00-001-034, located at 3315 Gold Butte Road, Bunkerville, Nevada is not a notified generator of hazardous waste (no U.S. EPA Identification Number).
NDEP does not issue a generator permit. I am not able to provide information on any NPDES Permit for that location, please contact the appropriate authority within Clark County. Please note that the following are State regulations (Nevada Administrative Code) relating to Salvage yards where management responsibility is given to the Solid Waste Management Authority (Clark County):
NAC 444.614 “Salvage yard” defined. (NRS 444.560) “Salvage yard” means any place where salvaged material is regularly dismantled, accumulated, stored or offered for sale, unless such operations are wholly contained in an approved building.
[Environmental Comm’n, Solid Waste Mgt Reg. § 1.23, eff. 9-21-77]
NAC 444.674 System to process waste: Salvage yard. (NRS 444.560)
1. A salvage yard must not be established until the location, facilities and proposed method of operation have been approved by the solid waste management authority.
2. Salvage in a salvage yard must be stored in an orderly manner so as to prevent harboring rodents, any public nuisance and accidents.
3. All nonsalvageable material must be stored and disposed of according to NAC 444.570 to 444.7499, inclusive. In no case may nonsalvageable items be stored for more than 1 week.
4. No garbage or similar putrescible material may be present at a salvage yard, except in approved containers for such materials.
[Environmental Comm’n, Solid Waste Mgt Reg. §§ 4.4.1-4.4.4, eff. 9-21-77]—(NAC A 9-2-92; 11-8-93; 3-1-94)
Hoarding itself can be a condition that debilitates and paralyzes its sufferers. So this is not to disparage anyone's mental health.
But we'll wait to see if Chilidog's concerned citizen gets a response from the Southern Nevada Health District, on whether or not they've issued Mr. Bundy a hazardous waste generator permit for Clark County. Because if Cliven wants to hoard mountains of garbage, he needs to do it legally and without impinging on neighboring lands.
Meanwhile, as scofflaw and sovereign citizen pretender Bundy continues his unlawful crusade to bilk American taxpayers out of a million dollars of his heavily subsidized grazing fees, he patriotically trashes our land, his land and his own home.
Because, of course, freedom.
