The National Organization for Marriage, the major group opposing marriage equality, held its second March on Washington today and like most such wingnut events in DC lately, it was a big FAIL.
NOM's chief grifter Brian Brown claimed that thousands would attend, many coming on the more than 150 buses he also claimed, to hear big-name anti-equality bigots like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum say the same old "traditional marriage" stuff.
Here's the online headline from the Moonie Times, which was the "official media sponsor" of the event and produced its livestream:
Hundreds march in defense of traditional marriage
From a quick look at the livestream, I estimate that was about three hundred, not the 20 hundred or more promised by Brown.
And a good number of the few marchers were no doubt paid to be there by other event sponsors like the Catholic Church, the Heritage Foundation and the Family Research Council.
The anti-equality bigots have lost, on the streets, in the courts, in state legislatures, at the polls, and in the hearts and minds of most Americans.
Today's March for Marriage is the latest proof of that.
