And yet he still won't shut up.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who misled the United States into a war it never should have fought in Iraq, will not shut up with his contrived fearmongering:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday predicted the United States would not make it out of the next decade without another terrorist attack, likely much bigger than 9/11.
Cheney, who has made a similar warning a number of times before, said the threat might come from a nuclear device.
But wait. I thought our wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were supposed to have made us safer, right? I guess not even Dick Cheney can bring himself to make that case ... which, if you think about it, amounts to an accidental admission that the Iraq war wasn't worth it, right? If so,
the nation agrees:
Seventy-one percent of Americans now say that the war in Iraq “wasn’t worth it,” a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg poll shows, with skepticism about the lengthy war effort up substantially even in the last 18 months.
Just 22 percent now believe the 2003 war effort was worthwhile.
Of course, I'm sure there's one big difference between Cheney and the rest of the country: While most people on this side of decency realize the blame for what happened there rests squarely on his shoulders and the shoulders of his Bush administration colleagues, I'm sure that Cheney would claim that it's all President Obama's fault that people think the war in Iraq wasn't worth it ... which makes about as much sense as the fighting the war in the first place.
