Somehow I've ended up on the RNC email list and I now receive up to several emails a day from Reince N Company. Sometimes they are messages from the Chairman himself, other times they have come from such heavy hitters as Marco Rubio, John McCain, and Sharon Day (whoever that is). I have held off unsubscribing, with the intention of someday using them as fodder for comedic commentary. Here goes!
Today's blast comes from Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. Text below...
I am blown away: over 100,000 conservatives signed onto the RNC’s petition in support of my lawsuit against President Obama and his Administration.
But I’m still missing one important name:
(my name here)
Yesterday, our lawsuit against President Obama and his Administration over ObamaCare was heard in court in an effort to gain standing. And I ask that you join us as we take a stand against the injustices of ObamaCare and Obama's abuse of power.
Stand with us and add your name to the petition today.
This case is about far more than the special treatment granted to the political class under ObamaCare. To restore balance and order, it is critical that we challenge presidential overreach, especially in cases in which our very own health care coverage is directly affected.
This is a crucial moment in U.S. history — and this lawsuit is an important vehicle for highlighting the dangerous erosion of our constitutional balance.
Join 100,000+ conservatives and me in upholding the rule of law as we seek to gain standing in court.
Stand with me and sign the petition to overturn Obama’s outrageous executive overreach.
Thanks,
Ron Johnson
U.S. Senator from Wisconsin

My first reaction... "what lawsuit?", over "Obamacare?"
I knew Boehner had some vague plan to sue the administration over executive branch overreach, and Johnson uses the word overreach in his email, but that's got even less to do with Obamacare than Saddam Hussein had to do with 911. Ha!
Could this be something serious? Could the senator have found the magic key to the triple rainbow republican joy of ending the socialist takeover of healthcare, once and for all?
So I clicked on the link to the petition, and behold...
Senator Ron Johnson is suing the Obama Administration for exempting Democrat Members of Congress from the ObamaCare law. It's unfair to make American citizens live under a law that politicians are exempt from.
Senator Johnson has filed a lawsuit and is willing to go all the way to the Supreme Court to ensure that Democrat Members of Congress have to live under ObamaCare – just as every other American citizen has to do.
Stand with Senator Johnson and sign our petition to overturn this unlawful executive overreach.
First of all, if I'm not mistaken, he is referring to an action which allowed congressional staffers to receive health benefits, even though their bosses are being denied them because of a GOP stunt to demonstrate their anti-Obama cred. This action applies to both Democratic and Republican staffers, so it is a little disingenuous to be luring gullible conservatives onto your petition by promising them the necks of evil Dems, when good ol' red white and blue republican staffers (and their families, don't forget their beautiful families!) are going to get hurt as well.
Beyond that...
When is the GOP going to stop pretending that Americans are being harmed by the availability of healthcare through the ACA? What a burden the American people are bearing, to have health insurance available, even if your job doesn't provide it. Even my conservative relatives in Mississippi have come around to accept this.
It seems like the GOP's public discussions have moved on, because of the obvious benefits of the law for millions of Americans, but when the door is closed and they are talking to their own, especially the fools who sign their petitions and send them money, its 2013 all over again!
