This glorious ad from the UK postulates what would happen if cats developed opposable thumbs. Before you watch it, just think about that for a moment...
Ready? Okay. From Cravendale Milk, here is Cats With Thumbs:
I first saw this ad some three years ago and it remains one of my favourites to this day. I’ve seen it many times and you need to watch it more than once to appreciate all that is crammed into less than 60 seconds: the cat filing her claws to nice sharp points, the cat reading The Art of Military Strategy, the leader of the cat army giving the “forward now” sign with raised paw, the cat leaning insolently in the doorway with weapon in hand. It’s an absolute delight for pootie lovers.
More recently, it was followed up with another ad, appropriately called Catnapped:
">
Notwithstanding that the cats are depicted as a vengeful warrior class (including the frilled-apron wearing cat who has taken up embroidery – she certainly wields a long, sharp needle), I am nevertheless certain that the genius behind these ads is a cat-lover. We who love cats embrace all their individual characteristics with joy and pride, including their fighting spirit. You only have to read
The Day I took the cat to the park to appreciate that!
