One of the popular talking points that I keep hearing over and over (and over and over and over) again from the wrong-wing (i refuse to call them the "right" wing) is that President Obama's DREAM Act Exec Order of 2011 is "an open invitation for people to flood the borders". No. No it's not. Just STFU with that BS already.
The DREAM Act of 2011 had the following limitations:
1. Had to be 15 or younger when they arrived in the US, and currently 35 or under
2. Had to be in the US for 5 consecutive years
3. Have good moral character, no convictions of any offense under Fed or State law that was/is punishable by a max term of imprisonment of more than 1 year; have 3 or more offenses under Fed or state law for which they were convicted on different dates for each offense, and imprisoned for an aggregate of 90 days or more
4. Have been admitted to an institution of higher education in the US, or earned a HS Diploma, or obtained a GED in the US.
So, if they have to be between 15 and 35, and in the US for 5 years, that's not an invitation for anyone, anywhere, to just show up on our door step. That law DOES NOT APPLY to them.
