...if someone were to set up a tent city on my front lawn and then told me I couldn't use my front door to go grocery shopping anymore, and that I was prohibited from stepping off my back porch to receive the pizza I ordered for delivery....I would probably start doing whatever I needed to...
Here we go again. Two men, that just happen to be of African-American ethnicity, just walking down the street to their Grandmother's home, minding their own business and along comes a Police Officer who initiate's Contact and begins menacing the teenagers. First with his vehicle, nearly driving them over. When the Teenagers get upset and exchange a few heated words with the Officer regarding his harassing behavior, the Officer uses the provoked reaction of the teens as justification, or more commonly used, "probable cause" to escalate the encounter into a physical confrontation which inevitably leads to the shooting death of one of the Youth.
Unarmed teen shot to death by Missouri Patrol Officer
However, you will not hear about any of the above from the spokesperson representing the Officer who killed the unarmed teenager. According to the Police Chief, the story begins with what supposedly had been a struggle between one of the teens, who supposedly made an attempt to grab the officer's gun, and is fatally shoot. A real short sweet story with a lot of "Ums" in between each lie.
What's worse it that witnesses report that the Teenager was shot with his hands up while responding to the officer's commands.
The reason why I am bringing this up and referring to our conversation last week and how it applies to Israel and Palestine, is that here you have a classic case where certain actions of one party in position of authority, uses or abuses it's power to initiate a confrontation, that leads to the death of another.
Then when the story is revealed to the press by the first party, the story never includes what the first party did to provoke the situation. They always seem to jump to the middle of the conflict, and seek to confused the facts of the matter by getting everyone bogged down in the minutia of the outcome, as opposed to what precipitated the entire conflict. Much like what Zimmerman did to Trayvon Martin.
Recently I spoke with a nationally syndicated talk show host about the three Israeli Teenagers that had reportedly been kidnapped. When I noted the lack of proof that had produced to justify any sort of retaliation by Israel, let alone the use of Military Force with regards to a domestic Crime, they immediately jumped to the argument about Hamas using Rockets. A convoluted argument at best, and here is why.
Before I continue, allow me to make it perfectly clear, that I believe any country, and/or person has the right to protect itself from the aggression of another.
I also believe that if someone were to set up a tent city on my front lawn and then told me I couldn't use my front door to go grocery shopping anymore, and that I was prohibited from stepping off my back porch to tend to my garden or fish pond, I would probably start doing whatever I needed to...
A.) survive, and
B.) get these people, who have absolutely no right to dictate how to live my life, and leave me alone.
If after three decades of throwing rocks at the people on my lawn doesn't work, I probably would look to other remedies. And when the bullets started flying if they happened to have a bigger gun than mine, then so be it. It still would not necessarily mean I deserve to be forced to be a prisoner in my own home, not would it give them the right to infringe on my property rights, and my ability to live in peace, and harmony.
Although Hamas may be responsible for the firing of Rockets into Israel NOW, in an attempt to fend off Israel's attacks. Hamas did not start using rockets until AFTER Israel declared war on Hamas over the death of the three Israeli teens who were discovered murdered roughly three weeks before any news of it reached the public. A little known fact surrounding the Murders just surfaced, and is now under question. No one seems to know why it took several weeks for the Murders to make news, nor what the Israeli authorities were doing during in the meantime.
All that is known is that 30 days ago, Israel just came out of nowhere with accusations and vowed Hamas would regret killing the teenagers. Then within a few days, Israel began dropping Bombs on innocent civilians in Gaza without any shred of proof of Hamas' involvement.
Ironically this same M.O. has been used many times before. The most recent instance was when a former President invaded Afghanistan within three weeks of the Twin Towers Demolition plot. Despite the fact that the Afghanistan Government offered to hand over Bin Laden if Bush would have been kind enough to provided evidence that Bin Laden had any involvement.
Instead of turning over proof, a tightly controlled media campaign began to create a bogeyman out of Bin Laden and within three weeks Bush was dropping bombs in Afghanistan
Having declared on national television from the Oval Office that he would capture Bin Laden "Dead or Alive", Special forcesL Delta eventually caught up with Bin Laden in the Mountains of Tora Bora within the first few months of "Operation Enduring Freedom". It had been reported that when the Delta Forces called into headquarters, which is usually linked directly to the White House, to find out how Bush wanted Bin Laden delivered... "Dead or Alive", they were met with radio silence.
Before Delta Team could receive an answer, Bin Laden suddenly packed up and bolted for the one side of the Mountain that just happened to not have been patrolled by American forces allowing him to stroll right into Pakistan, where he lived comfortably for the next 10 years in a three story Compound with his Wives and family. Some of which had been flown out of the U.S. on September 12th, by the same charter planes regularly used and reserved by high ranking government officials during the current administration at that time.
It was later learned that 15 of the 19 Hi-jackers were from Saudi Arabia, not Afghanistan or Iraq. But yet, it would only take another year of persistent media propaganda and lies, before Bush would get the green light invade Iraq. An oil rich country with a dictator who had outlived his welcome.
Although just about every progressive Talk show host on the air-waves today will readily admit that invading Iraq was wrong, but no one will talk about how it was possible for Bin Laden to slip through the fingers of the most powerful military in the world and into Pakistan, and Bush does nothing to extricate him.
After ignoring dozens of F.B.I. warnings that Bin Laden was determined to strike inside of the U.S., Bush passes the Patriot Act. A law which allowed spying on ordinary citizens while silencing the general media, our military is herded like sheep to slaughter into Iraq with no questions asked.
Bottom line is, I am sick and tired of being Bush-wacked!
Hamas did not break the peace that had been in place for nearly four years since 2008....Israel did. All without any real justification or provocation.
Back to Israel. Have you ever hear of "The Wrath of God" operation. In 1972 a group of Palestinian Gunmen stormed the Olympic Village housing complex in Munich. After a night of botched negotiations and rescue attempts to free the Israeli Athletes, all of the Hostages, and all except for two of the Assailants were killed. Over the next several years a group of Israeli Agents, the Mossad, systematically tracked down and assassinated the two surviving Assailants, plus a couple of other persons who had been suspected of masterminding the Hostage plot, including a German official who knew about the plot ahead of time and did nothing about it.
Knowing that Israel has the ability to do detective work and pull something like that off, I am even more confused as to why Israel would be so quick to resort to using Military operations. Especially if Israel knows who the perpetrators are. Why would Israel not use the same detective work as they did after the hostage crisis in Munich?
To do otherwise makes no sense. Unless of course you factor in the fact that Gaza has an abundance of natural gas and oil under it's soil. Then it all makes sense.
The actions of Israel to completely destroy the infrastructure of Palestine, at this point seems nothing short of an act of genocide to me, and the Israeli government should know better. In fact it has recently been reported that Benjamin's Nothingbutayahoo is seeking assurances from the U.S. to not be brought up on War Crimes charges.
I wonder why!
