Jan. 19th, 2014. With another Arctic Vortex coming this week, I decided to make another visit to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park. This time it was with a photo meetup I belong to called Northern Exposure Photography.
I spent most of the visit trying to get photos of animals I missed on my Jan. 16 visit.
The Squirrel Monkeys can be hard to photograph because their enclosure is harshly backlit.
The Siamang is usually in a corner where you can hardly see him. But on this day he came down for a snack.
One of the Patas Monkeys gave birth on Jan. 18th.
There a two types of Lemur at the zoo. Black & White Ruffed and Ring-tailed.
Outside the thermometer read 30, the wind made it feel much colder...some poor zoo employee had to remove the ice from the duck pond.
The Eurasian Lynx were out in their enclosure, I can't recall ever seeing them out before.
I have to wonder if the Kookaburra is happier in the cold or if it would rather be caught in the Australian heat wave...
