Lindsey Graham better hope nobody in Teahadistan sees this photo.
The GOP's 2016 presidential field, already a clown car turning into
a clown bus, may be on the verge of becoming a clown parade:
In a recent, hour-long interview, Lindsey Graham said if he is reelected to the Senate in November, he will begin exploring a bid for the presidency.
And he's serious:
“If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking—me and McCain have been talking—I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said.
But wait, isn't Marco Rubio already talking like "Lindsey and McCain"? Perhaps, says Lindsey, but:
Graham wasn’t impressed. “He’s a good guy, but after doing immigration with him—we don’t need another young guy not quite ready,” said Graham. “He’s no Obama by any means, but he’s so afraid of the right, and I’ve let that go.”
I guess it's true that Marco Rubio is no Obama—not even close. And it's also true that Rubio is way too scared of the right, but so is Lindsey. But Rubio's youth is the least of his problems. He might not presidential material, but neither is Lindsey, because when your entire rationale for running is that the biggest problem with the Iraq War was that it didn't last long enough, you don't belong anywhere near the Oval Office.
