Following up on Hector Solon's brilliant suggestion from last week's Open Thread, I'm convening a gathering of Kossacks and friends to support Mark Schauer outside Old Main, the building on Wayne State's campus where the "town hall debate" between Schauer and Snyder will be held this Sunday at 6:00 PM.
Let's gather at the Cass Café, just a couple blocks down the street, around 5:00. I have a few picket sticks that need signs. You're welcome to bring your own.
There's no way that we can be loud enough to be heard in the background of the debate, as Schauer backers were heard at therecent Snyder interviewat which he was accompanied by Chris Christie, another failed GOP governor. (Video link also thanks to Hector.) But for us to be present in support will be a good PR effort anyway. We cannot afford another four years of Snyder. Make him the one-term nerd. Michigan needs a Schauer!
Please feel free to discuss other local or state-wide efforts in the comments below. Short- or long-term organizing, it's all toward the same end: power to the people of Michigan.
