The release of the autopsy reports (see jpmassar post here) is being intro'd in the news reports I've heard so far on TV tonight with this conclusion right up front. Because Brown had a wound to a hand, that's being taken as evidence that he tried to grab the officer's gun. So, presumably everything that followed was his fault.
To be sure, some of the reports follow up with a little more detail, but that one bit is the one that seems to get 'top billing' as it were.
