They don't know me yet every word that trips from their mouths drips with visceral hatred.
Everything I am they damn.
My body belongs not to me, but to them.
They curse me and others like me, those who have never done them harm.
They lump us with child molesters and abusers.
Yet they do not know us.
It is hard not to hate in return, but to calmly stand there and reply.
Yet each response falls on deaf ears.
We still try.
All that has ever been demanded is equality
Nothing more nothing less.
Yet they turn their backs and damn us all the same.
