In light of this day, to remember the vets who are and did serve for this country I salute you.
My eldest son, Army, still in. 2 tours Iraq, now helping them fall out of airplanes correctly.
My dad, Marine. Served late 50's. Couldn't be on a boat or plane without being devastatingly sick.
My grandfather, Army, WWII. Was 3 F due to his heart valves, got to serve at the end when the invasion of Japan was imminent.
My aunt, Air Force. Served during the last of 'Nam. Her husband too.
My uncle, Army Air Corp/Air Force. WWII, Korea, 'Nam.
And the others I have known over the years:
Black Cat 13, 'Nam.
The family up the street, lost one - 'Nam, one injured - Cambodia, last one served, Navy.
The family around the corner, lost one - 'Nam.
The family 3 blocks away, lost one - 'Nam.
Again, my many thanks.
