This diary is composed of photos from as recent as a couple weeks ago, to as far back as Autumn 2009, and the photos were taken with a number of different cameras.
But first a solicitation: I've been chatting with Marko the Werelynx who does the Street Prophets Friday Open Threads about the possibility of of doing Shutterbugs photo critique diaries, and we were both wondering if anyone else might be interested in participating? We are considering that it is possible to critique the framing/composition of a photo without technical details. Speaking for myself, there are some kinds of photos I want to take that I have not been able to figure out how to frame, and I would value some constructive suggestions. We were wondering if anyone else might interested in participating in such an exercise in order to try to get better at taking photos?
Photos with structures, the first is my neighbor's barn, the colors really were that brilliant that day.
This is an old schoolhouse (I think) near Boyne City, Michigan.
Old Mackinaw Point Lighthouse in Mackinaw City, Michigan.
This was taken at a highway rest stop along US 23 North of Bay City, Michigan.
And this is some Poison Oak growing up the side of a concrete silo at the grain elevator in Ida, Michigan.
If I am out taking photos of Autumn Colors, I'm going to wind up in an old cemetery. It happens every time. This first one was taken last year in Wing Cemetery in Petersburg, Michigan.
This one was taken in a cemetery I came across while driving down Boyne City Road, between Charlevoix and Boyne City, Michigan.
This is in Island View Cemetery near Good Hart, Michigan.
Roads I've traveled down, the first is on the shoreline road that goes to Cross Village Michigan.
Here is a view down a dirt road with no name, near Mackinaw City, Michigan.
This year the maple trees were stunning in a way I've never seen. Driving on this narrow, curvy road it took me a long time to find a place to pull over safely to get out and take a photo.
