You know the right is swinging at just dead air when they struggle for potential candidates that leads to Joe Scarborough of MSNBC getting potential value in running for the white house. What makes this story even more interesting is the 'unique qualifications' that Scarborough brings to the table:
Additionally, I think some people might be surprised by how pro-life Joe is. He rose in prominence before his congressional campaign for defending a man in court who had killed an abortion doctor.

Because apparently defending a murderer is proof of being pro-life(?) Now, don't get me wrong, I think everyone deserves a defense attorney, even (and especially) the guilty. It's part of the US justice system I believe in, but I don't recall using the fact that you took on a client you knew was guilty of killing a doctor as a sign of how pro-life you were.
I might be able to accept it as a sign that you valued the law and felt everyone deserves a defense. But Pro-Life?
The heart of this story originated with The Daily Caller, another conservative rag that is working hard to keep an eye on 2016.
Last week, Scarborough was all smiles — even letting out a laugh — on “Morning Joe” when Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol suggested on the air that Scarborough could represent the “Jon Huntsman lane” in a 2016 GOP primary. But behind the scenes, those who know Scarborough are not laughing.
It’s widely believed at MSNBC — including among network brass — that Scarborough is actively mulling a presidential bid, sources said.

I don't think there is a shot in hell he actually makes a run or makes any impact, but what it really sohws is that the Republicans have absolutely nobody on the bench they want. They will settle for 'whoever is left standing' at the end of a primary.
People often look at presidential elections and look for interest in the party. Every so often, a candidate comes out of nowhere and electrifies audiences. Mitt Romney did not have it. Probably the last Republican to really have it was Reagan.
But this is the complete reverse of it. I seem to remember the last time a republican television news show host ran for office. And if I remember, he wiped out a sitting president in GW Bush.
Would Scarborough run? I doubt it. But the fact that this is even a debate tells you that despite any rhetoric, the Republicans know they are in trouble.
