Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
Yeah.
In case I'm somehow the only source of World of Warcraft news for you and it's been a long while since you logged in, preorders are now available for the Warlords of Draenor expansion.
If you preorder the expansion, which is due out in the fall, you get an immediate boost of any character to 90th level. If that character is above 60th level and has professions, their professions get boosted to maximum too.
If you spend the extra money and preorder the deluxe version, you get a mount and a pet as well.
With that, on to the raid reports. Here's Ninotchka's Team Kaels and Flex-o-rama report:
So Team Kaels continues to struggle; we can kill heroic Norushen easily with three substitutes but heroic Immerseus just destroys us, so we can't really progress well. We're also having horrible connection/travel/health luck, especially the health luck. The next month or so could be dicey.
In flexorama, this was the Week of the Warlocks - fully 50% of the raid was purple and emo and played with fel magic. A great selection of healthstones and demonic gateways, but it also meant we had no bloodlust once Sardric went to bed and took away his mage.
The flexorama has been doing pushover easy content for long enough that people are getting bored with it, so next week I will be bowing to popular requests and taking the team through all of wing 2, rather than a stomp on wing 1 with a few jabs at the first couple bosses in wing 2. I've got a poll up on the guild website about possible options and future vision for the team, I would appreciate more responses from anyone who has been coming along on the Tuesday night raids, or who has been thinking about it and might be willing to join us, or who has been ignoring my advertising until just recently and would like to join in all the fun.

Here's Tvath with the Team Z and Saturday Night Massacre reports:
Ettocrut, our kitty druid, was unable to join us this week so we recruited Ignacia who brought some welcome warlocky goodness to the raid. Armed with our fresh lock cookies (healthstones), we tackled the Dark Shamans again and took them down after only a couple of pulls! We're now officially halfway through the Siege of Orgrimmar! Even better, he dropped some lovely new gear for the team including a trinket for Jantuk and a healing mace for Crakzert.
General Nazgrim is our next opponent, an interesting and complex fight with damage escalating in the final sections. We took several tries at it this week but will go back to farming for a week to grab some more loot. Acting on a suggestion from Tay, whose priest does amazing output in the weekly flex raids, I retuned Tvath's build to emphasize critical strike, and we'll see how that goes.
Saturday Night Massacre:
This week we went back to some old raids, tackling Karazhan and the Molten Core. The fights, with the exception of the Kara chess game, are no challenge for a bunch of 90s, but one or two people brought lower-level alts and a few others got to see these for the first time. I love the storybook quality of Kara, and would love to see more haunted castle/ fairy-tale raids. Alas, none of the bosses dropped mounts, but a couple of people got pets and much transmog gear was had.
