So, is New Hampshire that way?
I'm writing this because facts tend to cheer me up when fiction is bringing me down and this place is Chock Full 'O Fiction lately. Doomsaying reigns among the Pundit-ocracy, Kos on Kos metaviolence is at gladiatorial levels and NASA says the Apocalyse is neigh, oh my.
Well, like I said, facts tend to cheer me up and so I have a nice troika of polls fresh from the hopper today to give you enough hope to start breathing again.
Scott Brown Is Not Going To Be A Senator In 2015
Shaheen vs. Brown - NH Sen
ARG 3/13 - 3/16 533 RV 50 38 Shaheen +12
Suffolk/Boston Herald 2/27 - 3/5 800 LV 52 39 Shaheen +13
WMUR/UNH 1/21 - 1/26 454 LV 47 37 Shaheen +10
Those simply aren't competitive numbers for a dude as well known as the former Senator from Massachusetts. I know Maureen Dowd managed to get a (paid for) article out of her fear that Scottie wouldn't have entered the fray unless the Dems were completely bolloxed. Thus, it doesn't matter if he'll get trounced, the fact that he is willing to get trounced... anyway, that is the mental contortions she goes through to concern troll the party she appears to have an affinity for. Glad we're not friends.
Michigan Senate = Koch Fail
Gary Peters D vs. Terri Land R, MI Sen.
LE&A/Denno Research 3/9 - 3/10 600 LV 37 40 Peters +3
EPIC-MRA 2/5 - 2/11 600 LV 41 38 Land +3
Yes, I know those numbers for Dem Rep. Gary Peters aren't great and LE&A/D is hardly a household name in polling but Epic-MRA is a known quantity of R-biased fund-raising pollsters. The same LE&A/D poll showed governor Snyder with a 3 point lead so it's not a terribly D friendly sample. Most importantly it shows that the recent spat of Koch flavored anti-Obamacare ads just aren't working and if that dog aint' hunting', well... Michigan will again be a place for Republicans to squander their money in search of a win they never get. It's worse than Pennsylvania and New Jersey for GOP disappointment. BTW, without a win in MI hopes for a Red Senate are almost nil.
Rasmussen Keeps Showing POTUS Love
Pres. Obama Approval Ratings
Rasmussen Reports 3/14 - 3/1 1500 LV 49 49 Tie
Yes, the House of Ras still sucks and always will but for some reason their methodology keeps showing Obama right around even. The fact that wingers have to choke on that thought every day makes me grin. BHO has been underwater since last summer and until the Obamacare bounce starts to hit, it probably won't raise much but remember this: with the Prez as deep as he is, generics still show Dems ahead of the GOP in congressional preference. In other words, it can't get much worse than it is right now and right now ain't so bad kiddos.
Remember, when the fiction starts to get you down, try looking at some facts.
Make Yourself Feel Better - Kick A Republican Congressman To The Curb Today
Help Erin McClelland out with a teensy contribution. The PA-12 is a purple district carved from the bones of Jason Altmire and Mark Critzes' old digs. Anyway those blue dogs are gone and this suburb of Pittsburgh is ready for a genuine progressive voice.
Erin will gladly kick Keith Rothfus' arse to the curb this November in your name
With Gerrimandering literally fucking over PA and many other states (Dems won the raw
congressional vote in PA by 75,000 and yet Republicans won 13 of 18 districts - seriously, where is the DOJ?) Dems who live in safe districts, safe D as well as safe R, need to pour cash and muscle into those purple districts that are, by and large, winnable. PA-12 is one of them so make yourself feel good and slip her a twenty today at
her ACT Blue site.
