Detail of quilt for The Packhorse and irishwitch, showing the backing
Our friend and longtime Kossack, Phil N DeBlanc, suffered a terrible loss a few days ago. His beloved wife and soulmate died of cancer. She took her last breath in his arms. He is devastated and understandably so.
It's at times like this when people need people -- and for those moments when people cannot be around, we would like Phil N DeBlanc to have a community quilt. Let's wrap him in our love.
Quilt for The Packhorse and irishwitch
A community quilt is a quilt that contains messages of love and support from you, transcribed by me in archival ink on muslin. It is soft, warm, colorful, and it has a buzz from all those loving words. We tend to forget how powerful loving words can be. Trust me, your words in this quilt will be a huge support to Phil N DeBlanc as he grieves. He'll never feel alone.
A quilt we made for a local woman with cancer. Her friends drew on the patches. We delivered it while she was receiving chemo.
It takes time and material to make a community quilt and making them is a living for me and my sister. If you would like to contribute toward the cost of making Phil N DeBlanc's quilt, here is a PayPal link -- or message me if you prefer a check. $15/message is suggested but some give more to cover for those who have messages but cannot afford to donate. Whatever you can do is much appreciated and know that all messages are treasured.

We are still collecting messages and funds for hopeful's quilt. If you can help with a message and/or a donation, it would be great! She is having her cancer surgery today.

Meteor Blade's quilt is growing. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes apiece to make one of the diamonds -- and there will be 200 of them.
