In a diary that I posted about Rachel Maddow's chilling warnings regarding the uptick in right wing militias and hate groups ... and their murdering ways ... there was an opinion posted that we've ALWAYS had groups like those, that this is nothing different.

A typical murderer drawn to the racist forum Stormfront.org
is a frustrated, unemployed, white adult male living with his
mother or an estranged spouse or girlfriend. She is the sole
provider in the household.
Forensic psychologists call him a “wound collector.” Instead of
building his resume, seeking employment or further education, he
projects his grievances on society and searches the Internet for an
excuse or an explanation unrelated to his behavior or the choices
he has made in life.
The report from the Southern Poverty Law Center details over a hundred homicides committed by a group of "men" who have one thing in common.
An internet website and forum.
I don't believe it's possible to imagine the scenario where these scumbags would have done so many of these crimes without the site giving them the necessary goading to make it happen. (Moral support? Ish ... don't want to use THAT phrase)
These times are NOT like other times. Sure, back in the day a bunch of a holes would sit around a bar spouting the same crap and goad each other into committing crimes against locals, but this is a worldwide phenomenon and there are thousands pushing each other into horrifying actions.
We're just seeing the beginning of this. If you go on the Fox Nation website, you see a lesser form of this hate mongering, but the cowards on that site are surely capable of turning a corner and becoming dangerous with enough lies filling their empty heads.
These are strange and dangerous times ... and it's only going to get worse as long as mainstream republican politicians and "journalists" continue to use the language of revolt.
