Ted Cruz claimed at a recent Christian conference sponsored by the Family Research Council that Democrats were trying to repeal the First Amendment.
At this very same meeting, his father, Rafael Cruz, gave a speech calling for more Christian organizations to violate the First Amendment.
“The church should be influencing the media, should be influencing arts and entertainment, sports, education, business and, yes, government."
To support his arguments, he cites
the example that removing prayer and Bible readings from public schools (again, violations of the First Amendment) led to increased teen pregnancy and moral decay. He also cited the Supreme Court ruling against DOMA as leading to the decay of the traditional family.
This is the same man, remember, who told the "Marxist" Obama to go "back to Kenya," and thinks gay marriage is just a socialist conspiracy.
For all the Republican talking heads hoping for a Ted Cruz Presidential run in 2016, I wonder what they would say about associating Ted Cruz to his own father's extreme rhetoric, considering most of these same pundits tried to tar Obama based on his association to a controversial religious figure who also used extreme rhetoric.
I don't know what boggles the mind more: the irony, the hypocrisy, the total disrespect of our country's Constitutional values, or the overall lack of morality.
