Senator Tom Harkin (D. IA) has been backing some great candidates lately like Angel Taveras (D. RI), Bruce Braley (D. IA), Jack hatch (D. IA), Brian Schatz (D. HI), just to name a few. Now you can add Governor Mark Dayton (D. MN) to that list:
We’ve got our work cut out for us this November. With the tough national landscape we face, some of our best opportunities for progressive change are in governors’ races – like in Minnesota, where Mark Dayton is up for reelection.
Mark and I are longtime pals, so I never doubted he’d lead Minnesota to great things – but his achievements have amazed me.
You name the progressive value, and Mark’s taken action on it – he’s raised Minnesota’s minimum wage, passed the freedom to marry and much more. Any one of these accomplishments would be impressive on their own – added together, they’re downright amazing.
But all Mark’s achieved could be gone in a flash if any of his six Republican opponents win. The first out-of-state, dark money group is already on TV in Minnesota, and to fight back, Mark needs to raise $12,000 by the May 31 deadline. Please join me in supporting him now.

Governor Dayton shares the progressive values that I’ve fought for throughout my career. In our work together on the Ag Committee, he worked to get agriculture a foothold in the renewable energy industry. And he’s been a steadfast ally of education – under his watch, Minnesota has expanded all-day kindergarten, made college more affordable and seen test scores and graduation rates rise.
The Republicans have a very different idea for where this country should go than you and me. With Mark on the front line fighting for us, we’ve got to do all we can – right now – to help him win. Please, contribute now to help Mark raise $12,000 by midnight on May 31 to protect and continue Minnesota’s progress.
