Someone who spews so much hatred with such authority must not ever consider the possibility that he himself might be destined for the same hellfire that he so easily casts others into.
I mean think of it. Someone is faithful their whole life. They live what they think and are taught is a righteous life according to scripture and they work very hard at it. But what if the unthinkable happens? After they die and are summoned to judgement, what if despite all their efforts on earth, the God that knows absolutely everything stacks it all up and says, "Do you know what? Not good enough."
They get a ride on the down elevator to eternal damnation. And how do you think that their faith is going to hold up then? Maybe they preserve their faith for 100 more years while in hell. But do you think it will last 1,000 years? 1,000,000 years? That's only a drop in the bucket of eternity. And it's fire and brimstone the entire time.
Can we just pause a second and think. Eternal. Damnation. Eternal. Torment. Hellfire. Forever. Torture. For. All. Of. Time. For fucking ever! For what?
We can assume that truly horrific acts are subject to this judgement. But only few in history probably rank so high that the punishment might actually fit the crime. For those who claim our justice system is built on Judeo-Christian principles must have to relegate God's ultimate justice system to the footnotes. I mean this is basically capital punishment times infinity. This is the worst most painful torture you can experience and you get to experience it constantly for a time period of forever. You'd almost have to say that an eye for an eye seems a better system than this.
Do you think that being LGBT is high enough of an offense to warrant this type of punishment? Do you think that just supporting LGBT people's rights is enough to warrant this type of punishment? If the answer is no, maybe that's because you, like most normal people, don't think that living according to your sexual orientation or gender identity is an offense to anyone, least of all God.
(Also, perhaps you don't think that people who pursue romantic interests, a sex life, or even a long term partnership have a problem that is indistinguishable from substance abuse for having done so.)
But according to some they themselves are on the righteous path with 100% chance of being judged favorably and going to heaven and others are off the path and therefore will live in torture for all of time after their life on earth.
Below the Fluer d'Orange is proof that Hell exists.
The following is a transcript of a conversation that happened between two dead people, one residing in Heaven and one in Hell and over a chasm that is so great that supernatural beings cannot cross but that dead people who have had their tongues tortured with fire can apparently talk loudly and clearly enough across. Proof enough that Hell exists.
Luke 16:19-31
English Standard Version (ESV)
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ 27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house— 28 for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”
Thankfully for the rest of us, the rich man who sinned is still in Hell, still suffering immeasurably, unable to ever ask for forgiveness, and never able to end his misery permanently. And it's only been a few thousand years. Still has millions and billions more to go! Popcorn anyone?
