Received this e-mail today from Senator Mark Begich (D. AK):
In 29 states, it is still legal to fire LGBT employees on the basis of their sexuality or gender identity. That’s wrong, and in the Senate we passed a bill to make it right.
That bill is called the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), and it passed the Senate with bipartisan support. But with obstructionists controlling the House of Representatives, ENDA hasn’t even gotten a vote.
We need your support to help make the House take action. Sign our petition if you believe the House should bring ENDA to a vote.

The House holding up ENDA is a crystal-clear example of the partisanship that’s making it almost impossible to do anything in Washington. 64 Senators stood up and voted for this bill, but the House won’t even bring it to a vote.
There’s no good reason (and a lot of bad reasons) why the House hasn’t acted to outlaw workplace discrimination against LGBT people. And I’m tired of waiting around.
Demand that the House take action on ENDA -- add your name to our petition.
