Last week, Dinesh D'Souza made what will likely be one of his last media appearances before he goes off to prison for using straw donors to make illegal campaign contributions. He stopped by the studios of the One America News Network, a fringe right-wing cable news network that relies almost entirely on Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-verse for its viewership, to promote his new documentary, "America: Imagine The World Without Her." He told evening host Rick Amato that in his view, lessons on slavery, colonization and the Civil Rights Movement are part of a librul plot to make our kids hate America. Watch here--and pile up the dislikes.
People for the American Way, which first reported on D'Souza's appearance, got a shorter clip here.
D'Souza claims that our history books have been radically rewritten by "a generation of spoiled, overfed, affluent young people who turned bitterly against the Vietnam War" who are out to "make America the bad guy in all circumstances." To his mind, our kids shouldn't be told that some of the Founding Fathers owned slaves, or that Columbus took advantage of the native population. No, no--if our kids hear that, they may end up hating America.
Later on, D'Souza claimed that this is yet another plot by Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers to radicalize our kids. He claimed that Alinsky and Ayers taught Hillary and other Democrats that you don't need to "blow up a bridge" to be a radical--all you need to do is get a teaching degree, or write the textbooks.
Gee, I wonder if D'Souza just admitted that facts have a librul bias. If we had his way, our history lessons would look like something out of the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany--our country is right, no matter what it does. We have a word for that--indoctrination.
