You know, like in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's:
Ferguson police are now alleging that Michael Brown stole merchandise from a local store and authorities are admitting that when Mr. Brown ran into a cop, the cop shot him.
In the clip from Blake Edwards classic film of Truman Capote's best selling novel, two people commit a minor theft at a retail store, leave the store and immediately run into a cop, who, conspicuously, does not shoot them. Michael Brown was an American citizen just like these characters. A White, middle-class, no . . . wait a minute . . . well, he was an American citizen, anyway.
The film wouldn't have seemed such a lighthearted romp if those characters had run into a member of Ferguson's finest at the end, but, luckily, they ran into a member of the easygoing, slow to the trigger, milquetoast NYPD. Whew! What lucky duckies they are.
FPD had six days to cook up a story about why their guy shot Michael Brown and the best they could come up with is shoplifting. Well, Breakfast at Tiffany's is fiction, and so is this BS out of Ferguson, MO.
