Before I get into the gritty details, please go here and consider the plight of a group of Mental Health Professionals in West Georgia.
My first and second diary dealt with out mistreatment at the hands of our mortgage bank and a group of thugs he hired to steal out property. This has since been resolved as best as it can be. Things were looking to get back to what you would call normal, but then my family and several other families were bushwhacked by a scandal that has sent many into fiscal uncertainty and even ruin.
Please follow me below.
I hate to say that it seems my only interaction with the DailyKos community I have has been when I need help or advice. I am a longtime lurker and support everything the community stands for, and hope to turn Georgia Blue in the Senate races in 2014 and the General in 2016.
But this isn’t about me. This is about my Mother and Father, and a group of Mental Health Professionals in Western Georgia. They have been the victim of a reckless CEO that ran their Mental Health company into the ground. He had been taking the money Medicaid had granted his company to pay for mental health services and use the funds to pay for the loss of his personal lawsuit and using Medicaid funds to purchase a brand new car and possibly the upkeep of a mistress. He is currently trying to avoid responsibility by declaring bankruptcy despite leaving his employees in the lurch, some of whom he owes almost $20,000 in unpaid wages for services already rendered.
These families are facing eviction and financial ruin for simply doing their jobs while the CEO of their company repeatedly promised payment. Some have already been evicted and are spiraling into financial uncertainty. These Mental Health Professional work to heal the invisible wounds of mental disorder and abuse, and help at-risk and impoverished children in their community. They should not pay for the reckless abandon of a CEO committing Medicaid fraud.
Justice for this CEO is a thought, but their main concern now is to heal the damage. The Mental Health Professionals have joined together and started a GoFundMe to try and get back some of what they are owed. There is a link at the bottom of this diary. Please go to it and read their plight. I am not asking you for a donation now, only that you spread it to your social contacts, your friends and family, and get the message out. And please, if you can find it in your hearts and souls to help heal the wounds dealt to these caregivers, please donate.
The link for the campaign is here.
Thank you for reading.
UPDATE: I see a comment wanting more details. I am very cagey about providing them, as I do not want to jeopardize any future legal action that must be taken. However, I do have the court documents that show the company my parents work for attempting to file for bankruptcy and being denied. In reaction to this, the Company, Family Intervention Specialists, decided to close their doors instead and attempt to walk away from the debt.
As for why this wasn't reported on the news... unfortunately, this happens a lot in Georgia, and it never seems to make the news. I searched all through Georgia's news like WSB and WAGA's websites and can't find a news story about the fraud. I only have these court document scans. I hope that is enough to prove my veracity.
