In recent weeks as they prepared, and eventually did vote to Sue the President for not implementing a law they don't want him to implement, Conservative Republicans have been crowing about how they don't plan to "Impeach" the President.
John Boehner even went so far as to claim it was a "Democrat Scam" and not something that serious Republicans were contemplating.
Talk of impeachment was cooked up by a White House desperate for something to rally Democrats ahead of November’s elections, House Speaker John A. Boehner said Tuesday, flatly ruling out any action on the controversial suggestion.
“We have no plans to impeach the president. We have no future plans,” Mr. Beohner said. “Listen, it’s all a scam started by Democrats at the White House.”

Yeah, well, looks like
Steve King completely, totally missed that particularly
Klan Rally, er, um, Leadership Conference.
In an interview on Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace asked King what Republicans would do if the president decided to take executive action to stop the deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants.
“None of us want to do the thing that’s left for us as an alternative,” King explained. “But if the president has decided that he’s simple not going to enforce any immigration law or at least not against anybody except the felons — which essentially he has done already, this is a broader group of people — I think Congress has to sit down and have a serious look at the rest of this Constitution, and that includes that i-word that we don’t want to say.”
The Iowa Republican added: “And I only say that now because I want to encourage the president, ‘Please don’t put America into a constitutional crisis. Please don’t do that. There’s too much at stake in this country to be decided that you can take over the Constitution and write it at will.’”
First of all, this is a stupid ass straw-man bullshit question that he was asked. Why exactly on Earth would the President "take executive action stop deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants"?
Since he's been President, ICE and other agencies have deported a record of over 2 Million undocumented persons.
President Barack Obama has repeatedly declared himself a champion of immigration reform, including a legalization program for millions of immigrants in the country illegally.
But among some immigration-reform supporters — historically Obama's political allies — the president has been branded the opposite: "deporter in chief."
Cardinal, bishops hold Mass at border that reputation has been further cemented by a milestone being protested today by immigrant advocates in Arizona and around the country: Under Obama's administration, the U.S. has exceeded 2 million deportations.
When Obama took office there were 12 Million Undocumented Immigrants in the Country, that number has been reduced to 11 Million, largely due to his efforts at deportation and also the economic downturn. His annual rate of deportations far outstrips that of President Bush, even though they took a dip to it's lowest point in 2013 that
is still above the highest amount ever for Bush.
Not withstanding his executive decision to defer action [following the DACA which was passed by the Senate - and blocked by the House] on children who've been in the U.S. since 2007 already, why exactly on earth would Obama completely reverse his deportation policy now? It's not like doing that for current child refugee crisis is even on the table. It's not even in the
same room as the table. The Obama Administration has been attempting to expedite the handling of these children by
requesting more immigration judges, not stall the process or simply grant them blanket "Amnesty".
The Obama administration toughened its border policies Friday, hoping to stem a surge of women and children into the United States by sending a stronger message that unauthorized migrants will be turned away.
The steps, aimed at those entering from Mexico, include adding more immigration judges to process a backlog of asylum claims and to more quickly deport adults whose cases are rejected. New detention facilities are also being opened for families awaiting hearings, and ankle monitoring bracelets will be used to keep tabs on them, officials said.
The very idea of Obama offering "Amnesty" in this situation - or frankly any other - is just plain
wackadoodle.
Now it may be easy for some to dismiss King as a "kook", but since he's following the lead of his true Leader - Sarah Palin - the nominal GOP Leadership is probably powerless to stop this kind of talk despite their best efforts since the base is already well ginned-up in pre-outrage over new Obama "Atrocity" of declaring Executive Amnesty to all "Illegals".
Just like all the other "outrages" of the Obama Administration such as Death Panels, and the Benghazi "Stand Down Order", and the IRSghazi "Targeting of Conservatives" and the Fast and Ghazi "Gun Walking", and well, you get the idea. It doesn't matter that only 1/3 persons supports the idea of Impeachment - just like restoring Tinkerbell's wings - people like King and Palin think all they need to do is get people to "clap louder" and it will happen.
Palin, who first called for Obama to be impeached on the pages of Breitbart News, referenced a CNN poll that found that one-third of Americans favored impeachment in a recent CNN poll, including a majority of Republicans, weeks after she did, and said that is a "huge number – especially considering how misconstrued the issue is when relying on media to explain impeachment."
But Palin suggested the CNN poll is merely a baseline because it misinformed respondents into thinking that a president can only be impeached for criminal offenses and did not not ask whether Obama should be impeached for his lawlessness on illegal immigration. The Obama administration is reportedly set to grant amnesty and work permits to nearly 5 million more illegal immigrants "by the end of summer."
"One out of three Americans are talking about impeachment, Mr. President, because we love this country and respect the sacrifices made to build it," she declared. "That number will increase as more eyes open to the truth."
You may "Love the Country" but you clearly seem to loath, fear and hate all the immigrants - most of whom were certainly not "legal" when they arrived - who actually did all the building.
It doesn't matter that the likelihood of something like that happening with this administration is somewhere around zero minus infinity, all that matters to them is that they keep pushing the Overton Window further and further toward to cliff, and gradually dragging the rest of the Republican Party - and eventually - the country, close to the edge of their paranoid delusions.
Either way, it's good that King and Palin continue to let the GOP I-Cat out of the bag and down the street to scrounge through their neighbors trash. The higher and more visibly the GOP freak flag flies, the more Democrats and disaffected "Independent" ex-Republicans are motivated to get out and vote the crazies out of office in November.

2:05 PM PT: And on the claim that Obama is not deporting "Non-Felons" here's a chart of how that breaks down.
3:28 PM PT: The claim that "Obama could grant Amnesty to 5 Million Immigrants" isn't something that comes from the Administration, it's something the Democrat Luis Guitierrez said last month he was going to "discuss" with Homeland Security Chief Jeh Johnston.
REP. LUIS GUTIERREZ (D-IL): You know, I think there are sectors of our party, more in the Senate than anywhere else that are concerned about their own political viability, either of the party or their own particular candidacies in the Democratic party. And I think that's what is fundamentally wrong. When you use -- when public policy is defined through electoral goals and the goals of a party, then human rights and civil rights always suffer. We must put the rights of the people ahead of benefits that we might construe come to our party.
Let me just say in about an hour, I'm going over to the White House. I'll be meeting with [Secretary of Homeland Security] Jeh Johnson and the chief legal counsel to the president of the United States. We're going to sit down and we're going to negotiate additional terms and avenues the president can use and prosecutorial discretion and -- I think we can get 3 million, 4 million, maybe 5 million people.
As far as I'm concerned that happening is about as likely as the Obama Administration drawing up
War Crimes Charges against Dick Cheney or the CEOs of Wall Street Firms brought up on Criminal Fraud Charges.
3:32 PM PT: Regardless of like Reality - Rep. Guitierrez "discussions" have the wingnuts on the - no disrespect to our First Nationers - executive action War Path.

According to Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Obama intends “to act broadly and generously” on behalf of the “millions and millions” of illegal immigrants in the United States today. Gutierrez, who meets often with the president, is implying that Obama, before Labor Day and by executive order, will grant de facto amnesty to five million illegal immigrants. They will be granted work permits and permission to stay. With his pen and his phone, Obama will do what Congress has refused to do.
Yeah, except that Rep Guitierrez didn't actually say that, or frankly anything even remotely like that.
3:50 PM PT: My initial response to the idea of a blanket executive "Amnesty" was clearly skeptical in the extreme but just for the sake of discussion, what if there's something really to this brewing in the Obama Administration as Rep. Guitierrez described? Could they be using the threat of executive action and prosecutorial discretion to troll the Republicans into going into Impeachment Overload before Labor Day specifically to give the Democrats an overwhelming motivation to come out in November? Hmmm.... Could be risky, but then again, could be genius. What say you?
