Earlier today I received a phone call from my physician here in Idaho Falls telling me that I had Cervical/Uterine Cancer. Yes, I wish I was a bit more precise in the words he used but to be honest I was already starting a "things to do" list.
I underwent a full hysterectomy on Tuesday so am in the process of healing from that procedure.
Right now I'm looking for resources and information. Going oh poor me won't change the situation...so if those who may be of help could join me after the cheeto...
I'm in my 50's, the cancer is at stage 3 and my ob/gyn here mentioned a 50/50 chance of success though this is not his field and I'm sure I'll get more information as I speak to specialists.
Idaho Falls does not offer treatment for this condition evidently so if we stay in our home here I would travel back and forth to Salt Lake City by plane.
However, we do have a home in Denver that provides me the opportunity to seek treatment and reside there very comfortably while going through this adventure.
Does anyone here have personal experience with this condition, what I may expect, what questions I should be asking, etc..? My Dr's can give me figures but I'm looking for the more human part of the experience at the moment.
