Two items that jumped out at me this morning have yet to be posted here afaict, so I'll put them up below the Squid Embryo
Headline from SFGate:
Critically hurt man left in towed car for 6 hours in Ohio
,
LINKY
In Part:
A southwest Ohio sheriff's office is trying to figure out how a critically injured man was left inside a vehicle for six hours after it was towed from a crash scene in suburban Dayton on New Year's Day.
A worker preparing to take the vehicle off a flatbed truck found the man screaming for help, the Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/... ) reported.
The man was in stable condition Thursday, a week after the crash in Harrison Township, Montgomery County sheriff's Capt. Jeremy Roy said. Roy is reviewing the case to decide whether a formal administrative investigation should be done.
Seems to me that questioning whether or not to formally investigate, you know, "WTF", is a tad bizarre. Is this type of thing sufficiently reoutine that they just kinda ask around, or what?
Next, far less surprising, headline
Police: Texas officer stole suspects' cash, drugs, rifle
LINKY
Dude stole pot, "thousands of dollars", and a rifle, no doubt assuming that the "perps" wouldn't rat him out, because, "perps". Heh, they did.
This, plus the fact that the officer is on administrative leave, is somewhat in "uh, yeah, so?" territory, BUT, the cop has been busted, felony busted. That's a surprise. Of course, since he's on admin leave, he's drawing his salary for sitting in the slammer, but, hey, what's your beef with that?
