So I was watching Maddow earlier, and she was interviewing Richard Engel. Engel speculated that the reason the arms dealer in Belgium turned himself in was "He feared he would be killed during the police raid." As though it is expected that you should be killed during a police raid! Well, that might be true in America. But in Europe, especially Western Europe; the police aren't hopped up on (steroids?), with itchy trigger fingers.
This is where we are here in America. It's expected, nay, accepted; that you will be killed during a raid by the police. Is there really any question that we live in a police state now?
