Tuesday is the Mister's birthday. I can always remember when his birthday is because January 20th is also Inauguration Day in the US.
Tuesday! A day to say Happy Birthday and It's Inauguration Day (if we needed it this year.)
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group gives Kossacks a safe place to check in, a daily diary where we can let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, earthquakes, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It also allows us to find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, earthquakes etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a Kosmail and ask to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
We do have a diary schedule. But, when you are ready to write that diary, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMOM a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FloridaSNMOM is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

Handy having a Big Deal Federal Date to help pin the Mister's birthday to. Originally Inauguration Day was on March 4th, the date the US Constitution went into effect in 1789. Every US Presidential Inauguration after March, 1933 (FDR's first of four) has been on January 20th (or the 21st if the 20th is a Sunday. The last Inauguration, President Obama's second, was on January 21st, 2013.)
Why the 20th of January? The 20th Amendment to the Constitution, that's why. And why did we need the 20th Amendment? Here's a hint: it was nick-named "The Lame Duck Amendment." Because of vast improvements in communication and transportation in the US since 1789 (to put it mildly!), the four months between Election Day and Inauguration Day were no longer needed to ensure the smooth transition from one presidential administration to the next.
So: less time for the ol' lame duck president to have to languish in the White House.
(More inauguration fun trivia here )
FDR's second Inauguration was, thus, the first on the new date: January 20 (1937), just as his first had been the last held on the old date of March 4th.
Roosevelt's second inaugural was also the occasion of his famous "One-third of a Nation" speech, well-worth reading today, 78 years later. Sadly, some problems just don't get solved the way we would hope.
Back to the Birthday Theme, because, you know, Mr. eJ is the love of my life . . . .
Of course, some people don't like birthdays.
But we here at IAN do, don't we??
Happy Birthday Mister eJ!!
