Two separate recalls are discussed here.
As you may recall, on 24 Jan., I posted a previous noticethat:
J.J. Fuds of Valpariso has recalled their Premium Natural Blends Chicken Tender Chunks. This is a raw, frozen chicken product sold in 5 lb. bags.
This was updated to include the following:
The following products have been added to the recall:
J.J. Fuds Duck Strips (2 ounce)
5 lb. bags
UPC #: 654592-345928
Lot Code Date: 5/7/14
J.J. Fuds Beef Strips (2 ounce)
10 lb. bags
UPC #: 654592-345751
Lot Code Date: 1/6/15
I am unable to find further information on this at either the FDA site or the company site which is odd as hell. If you are feeding this company's products, I would contact them. It's not known where these strips were sold from, or what distributors are selling them. It is not known what contaminant appears to be involved.
Hop over the orange thingy.
The second issue is this:
Grill Phoria LLC's Big Bark All Natural Beef Jerky Treats for Dogs. Contaminate is Salmonella.
There are NO lot codes on the packages, but the items were distributed from Sept. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015 as follows:
Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Oklahoma through Nor-Sky Pet Supply LLC through independent pet stores. The product is under the Big Bark label and is in a standup pouch that is 3.5 oz in weight labeled as All Natural Beef Jerky Treat.
The FDA release for this is here.
Be safe and always hug your doggie!
