Saturday Night Live alum and current Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon, has made quite an "impression" with his musical impersonations of legends like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Neil Young. His likenesses have even held up while singing next to the original artist in both astonishing and hilarious live performances as he does here (in case you haven't seen it) with The Boss in his "Gov. Chris Christie Traffic Jam," parody of "Born to Run."
Fallon even did a "reunion" of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, with himself as Young of course, singing a hilariously unlikely cover of Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," embedded below for your entertainment.
But alas, Jimmy had never sung alongside the real Neil, until last night that is, when Young came on stage half-way through Fallon's version of his classic, generational ode "Old Man." Not only does this work as an impression, but also as legitimate musical performance, enriched theatrically with poignancy and irony by the fact that Young, who composed the song in 1970, is "young" no longer but now a grizzled old man with thick, grey sideburns, while Fallon is the energetic, bright eyed and callow youth who deftly manages to pull off both poking fun and honoring the legend all at once.
