HHS released their final(?) weekly snapshot report today, along with a whole bunch of renewal data. But first...

OK, let's get nerdy...
--8.84 Million! I was right! Wait, I was wrong...wait! In which HHS gets 1/2 point off for not showing their work
The good news: Those 200K dropped enrollees ended up only being 90K (yay!).
The bad news: I was hoping for a good 300,000 "extension period" enrollees via HC.gov... instead, they only ended up being 131K on the federal exchange for the week. Still a solid addition but a bit disappointing to me.
The worse news: The past-tense wording in the press release makes me deeply concerned that they plan on cutting off the weekly reports going forward. I'll be majorly bummed if this is the case; I was hoping that they'd keep them going at least through the end of the "Tax Season" enrollment period (April 30th), and preferably during the off-season as well. We'll have to see...
Another annoyance: They didn't include the state-by-state breakout this week, so I have either 41K or 131K (depending on your POV) "spare" QHP enrollments on the spreadsheet which I can't break out yet. Irritating.
--"Final" 2015 Open Enrollment Period Graph: 11.74 Million Nationally
I was going to wait until Saturday to write this up, but what the heck...unless the state exchanges have a major surprise up their sleeves for the extension period, the final numbers aren't going to change things much.
--"Final" Edition: 2015 Open Enrollment Period vs. 2014
These "year over year" overlay graphs have proven popular, so here's one for the road. In the end, 2015 enrolled about 46% more than 2014. Not bad!
--Today's Other Big HC.gov News: Over half of 2014 renewals did so actively
And finally, HHS released a 2nd press release which partly makes up for the lack of state-by-state numbers: A fairly in-depth breakout of the active renewals vs. autorenewals vs. new enrollee numbers on the federal exchange.
And with that, I'm wiped.
I'll have some sort of announcement about the future of the site/etc. soon, by the way.
