Because nothing can be nonpartisan, saving the internet has now become a
Republican presidential primary issue.
While taking questions at an Iowa pizza joint over the weekend, Bush weighed in on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) recent move to impose utility-style rules for the Internet, which have been blasted by Republicans and major cable companies.
“The idea of regulating access to the Internet with a 1934 law is one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever heard,” he said, according to multiple reports.
Or maybe that's just Jeb attempting to tamp down his establishment, elitist reputation and appeal to the know-nothing tea-party base. He's certainly
out of step with the majority of his own party, but the majority of his party isn't going to be voting in the Iowa caucuses. For those folks, he's got to sound as dumb as he can.
Or perhaps he's just getting his talking points—and marching orders—from Verizon.
Some members of Congress, on behalf of their cable donors, are trying to stop the FCC from protecting the internet we love. There isn't much time to stop them, contact them now.
