One year ago today, my wife Anne and I spent an extraordinary day at the County Clerk's offices in Washtenaw and Oakland counties in Michigan, watching as some of the 300+ same-sex couples were legally married for the first time in our state's history. You can revisit that day with us in the post (HERE) that we put up featuring many of Anne's outstanding photographs.
We even got to see Judith Levy, the first openly-gay federal judge in the 6th Circuit Court perform the first ceremony of the day in Washtenaw County:
As a follow-up to that day, Anne did an interview with Connie Greer and Diane VanDorn, two women from our hometown of Dexter who Anne had shadowed the day they were married to document their experience. You can see the photos of Connie and Diane in Anne's piece "More than just security for your family, a marriage license gives same-sex couples a feeling of legitimacy.".
Anne recently caught up with Connie and Diane. They have since moved to Ann Arbor with their four kids, and have spent a year living together as a legally-married couple. They tell their beautiful story accompanied by more of Anne's tremendous photos in the third installment of "The Big Picture" at Eclectablog.
It is titled "Just. So. Regular." Click the image below to get started.

(I apologize for simply reproducing the piece here but the dynamic nature of The Big Picture posts and the special coding required to present the images and words in that way preclude that. I think you'll be happy you clicked through, though : )
