As I told you before
I'm a man on a mission. Somehow, The New York Times has realized that the upcoming Wisconsin Spring Elections have important ramifications. Did I get someone's attention? I'll never know. Why should I care anyway? As long as the story is getting spread far and wide, it works for me.
I explained last week that Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley is up for re-election on April 7th. You may remember her as the jurist who was choked by Judge David Prosser back in 2011. As one of three Liberal Justice's on the seven member court, her retention is essential considering the abject corruption and outrageous conflicts of interest of her four conservative colleagues on the bench.
Also on the April 7th ballot is 2015 JR 2, a Constitional Amendment the sole aim of which is to depose beloved Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson from the position to which the voters of Wisconsin re-elected her in 2009 for a ten year term. Defeating this referendum is made even more paramount by Republican efforts to hand budgetary control of Wisconsin's Judicial Review Commision to the very judges they are supposed to be regulating via Scott Walker's Biennial Budget.
The New York Times has published it's own expose on this story covering the John Doe Probe of Scott Walker's Campaign Financing, the efforts by the groups being investigated to have the probe ended, their influence on conservative members of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and the important issues on the ballot in our Spring Election on April 7th.
It's a long comprehensive article covering many of the points I brought to you last week. Being the New York Times, they naturally gave the incumbent, 20 year Supreme Court veteran, Ann Walsh Bradley's OPPONENT the last condescending bullshit word:
“I truly believe that partisan politics and out-of-state special interests have no place in our courtrooms,” Justice Bradley said in response to written questions.
Yet her opponent, James Daley, a circuit court judge who has received an in-kind donation from the state’s Republican Party, said he viewed the notion that Justice Bradley shunned help from Democrats as “a giggle.” The issue, he added, was not what Wisconsin voters he had met along the campaign trail were most worried about.
“People are, No. 1, concerned with the public displays of dysfunction in the court,” he said.
I think the people of Wisconsin care more about whether their Supreme Court serves justice than about keeping up appearances.
This community's response to my efforts last weekend was nothing short of amazing! I want to thank you all sincerely for exceeding my wildest expectations. We helped Justice Bradley achieve 150% of her fundraising goal for that weekend.
On April 7th Wisconsin holds it's Spring Elections. Please help turn the tide of Republican tyranny by telling your Wisconsin friends and family to VOTE NO on 2015 JR 2 a Constitutional Amendment aimed at usurping Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and to VOTE FOR the re-election of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.
If you would like to be of further assistance you can donate to Bradley for Justice or volunteer to help GOTV!
Early voting in Wisconsin is going on now and runs through April 3rd. For information how to vote early click here.
THANKS AGAIN!!
