Tonight I am featuring two videos about marriage equality that made me tear up for very different reasons. The first video I watched at JoeMyGod this morning and it has been on my mind all day. Created by PFLAG Canada, it is one of the most stunningly beautiful yet sad videos on the matter I have seen. I knew it needed to be shared here. It is exactly one minute long but packs a mighty wallop.

The video above moved me deeply but also left me wistful. Just before I sat down to write this diary, I visited another of my favorite haunts, The New Civil Rights Movement. I was so glad I did, for I found the antidote to the sads the first video had given me. I am a sucker for proposal videos and the one I present to you below is one of the most sincerely happy ones I've run across. And yes, I teared up for the second time in one day over YouTube videos.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether gay people have the fundamental right to marry the person of their choosing. They will hear our opponents empty arguments insisting that we are destroyers of families, corruptors of children, annihilators of faith. They will then hear the much simpler argument that all this boils down to is love and our human right to celebrate it.
