Orange sweater and personal appearance didn't help
The Packers prevailed over the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon
despite Chris Christie's mojo and orange sweater.
Christie exchanged a hug and handshake with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones during warmups about 45 minutes before kickoff for the playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. He wore a blue Cowboys scarf with a dark winter coat.
Jones has referred to Christie as his team's "mojo" because Dallas has won the last five games Christie has attended wearing the orange sweater for good luck. The Cowboys, 8-0 on the road this season, can advance to the NFC championship with a victory.
Didn't help today.
Christie, no surprise, picked the Cowboys to win — 38-28 — and was feeling mighty confident.
Nope! Not even close. Packers 26, Cowboys 21.
Christie has been the subject of serious questions since video of chest bumping and hugging Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared after the Cowboys won last week. Jones had paid all the expenses (except security - paid for by taxpayers) for Christie to travel and stay for last weeks game. Jones, it seems, has business with the Port Authority which Christie co-controls with NY Governor Cuomo.
And people in New Jersey are outraged at Christies love and support for a non local team.
This time Christie said he's paying the tab himself, but I'll bet my next pension check that he's not paying for his nice seat in Jones luxury suite at Lambeau Field.
I haven't seen any reporting or pictures of the NJ Governor following the Cowboys loss so I'll have to rely on my imagination. Bully didn't win this one and a crushing defeat is certainly not photogenic.
Congrats Packers. You not only defeated the Cowboys, you deflated Chris Christie.
2:27 PM PT: Nothing on Chris Christie's Twitter yet. I've checked all of his accounts, even the ones he hasn't posted on since 2013. He's still drying his tears.
