We are looking forward to Saturday when DKos Asheville will host our seventh meet up. As we were developing plans, Tom Sullivan, blogger for Scrutiny Hooligans and Hullabaloo, brought us together with Logan Smith and Gerrick Brenner from Progress NC. They had reached out to Tom to see if Asheville could help facilitate a bloggers conference. The timing was perfect since we had already set our meet up date and location. Thanks to the networking, this Saturday's Daily Kos meet up will feature what looks to be a well attended bloggers conference at the Crowne Plaza in Asheville.
The DKos meet up will continue through the evening with over five rooms booked for attendees. Sunday morning will feature breakfast, fun and maybe some playoff football if folks stick around.
Our co-host, Progress NC, just filed a complaint today about Pat McCrory's (R-Duke Power) shady relationship with Duke Power. I'll be looking forward to hearing their update at the conference. Please jump the Power Pretzel to see a great example of Progress NC in action.

Governor Pat McCrory's ethics are again being questioned by political opponents. The 50-page complaint again brings up questions about whether McCrory broke the law by failing to report income from Duke Energy and Tree.com, but also alleges a new violation. Progress N-C Action wants investigation into the Governor's connection to McCrory & Company, which is a Charlotte-based consulting firm founded by Phil McCrory, Pat McCrory's brother. The Governor is reportedly listed in federal filings as a partner with the company, but his state ethics form doesn’t describe him that way. The Governor said today he was a paid staff member at McCrory & Company until taking office.
