Just a short diary. I'm sure someone else will do something more comprehensive when details come out overnight or into the morning. But here is the info you need to know at this moment.
My small scale analysis. Ryan is easy to like the R cacus. He doesn't seem to throw a lot of stones, therefore he doesn't make a lot of enemies. His success or failure will depend on what his "conditions" are. The "freedom" caucus wants a lot of things from the next speaker. I can't see Ryan giving away the farm knowing that it's like giving a mouse a cookie.
But anyway - if he runs, he'll win. It's the only way he's going to run. But he already has the RW blogs going after him for not being conservative enough. I can't see him being a lot worse for D's than Boehner. Ryan knows certain things need to get done. While we all disagree with him on about every level, I think we can also agree he's not an idiot or a total destructionist.
Anyway, we'll get more info by the morning. I wanted to get this up quickly.
