get in the mail every Wednesday. It's a free paper that has the sales ads for the grocery stores in it. It was 6 pages , 2 of which are full page grocery ads , 1 page is almost entirely about how to advertise. Here's what took of most of the rest of it.
2 ads saying vote November 3rd
1 ad saying vote November 10th (the local things are on a different date and vote at a different location)
an ad for a sheriff who said you can see and talk to him. He then gave his who history including how many years he went to elementary school and what town he went to them in. He mentioned his wife, his children , his parents and his brother's names. He then listed things that actually apply to the job of sheriff
re elect a state rep. He had a picture showing his family. he says he's for public education, balancing the budget, pro life, pro family, creating jobs, conservative values.
a guy running for supervisor, Entire family in picture. Mentions how long he's lived in area, how long he's been married, his kids, his Christian faith, the church he goes to and that he's a Deacon. Then finally there are things about his work ethic and about serving the people of the county.
Then an ad for Sherriff , He mentions what he would like to do then gives his family history , his age, his wife , how long they've been married, his children, his parents, his church and then there are things that actually pertain to the job,.
Then an ad asking to help protect us from a liquor store. Mississippi is dry by default and alcohol was only recently voted in. That doesn't mean that there was no booze (in fact there was more then) there was a thriving black market booze business going on. The cops never bothered arresting anyone if they found it, they just confiscated it. Plus there was a very busy liquor store just over the county line . There's another liquor store over the county line in the still dry county over the state line in Alabama. The only booze available around here is beer and cheap wine.
There's a compare and contrast between the two parties. The Republican side said they believe in life, securing the border, traditional marriage ,the right to bear arms . The Democratic side said believe in abortions , same sex marriage, amnesty for people who are here illegally and the right to bear arms is absent from the platform (apparently those are all horrible things according to the Tishomingo county Republican party)It also says life matters (then why are they for guns) your party matters, vote values, vote Republican.
Then a screed called I am a Republican. It says they believe in equal rights but a later part makes that clear not if you are gay or want an abortion. They also believe in less government and the rest should be covered by private organizations (the old cut the food stamps the churches will cover it deal), By the Tishomingo county Republican party executive committee.
A simple vote for name here for Sheriff ad.
a re elect a constable who is dedicated ready and trained (all 3 words had the 1st letter underlined)
Is this saturation a sign of panic on the part of the Republican party (because it's obvious most ads are Republican if not all) ? The Governor kept running ads claiming he'd balanced the budget and made either 29 or 49 tax cuts (the Sunday paper said something different about the budget). Maybe he was called on it because the only ads I see for him now have him talking about his wife doing charitable work.
I think they may be panicking . Liquor was voted in, the personhood amendment was voted down and their party is pretty much aging out.
