We keep seeing pictures of people weeping and praying over victims of mass shooting. Pretty easy to ignore. If the media showed some actual dead bodies, blood, and spattered brains, it might create the kind out outrage that is needed right now.
But the media seems to have a thing against showing us real picture of violence. Graphic images might be "too disturbing"....or something. Does anyone know: is it illegal to show pictures of victims? Is it considered bad taste? Is it avoided out of a paternalistic desire to protect the public? Whatever the reason, it might be worth re-thinking the assumption.
