On Reddit comes this Onioncheck: a mother posts the lyrics for a school chorus edition.
...So my son wanted to be in the xmas chorus. The lyrics of the first song are so WTF... move over Santa. Walmart is in charge of Xmas now!
To be sung, strangely to the tune of “I Have a Little Dreidel”:
Love to shop at Walmart
There’s food and games and toys
There’s something for my family, for all the girls and boys
Oh Walmart Walmart Walmart, you are my fav’rite store
Oh Walmart Walmart Walmart, you couldn’t ask for more!
Can you imagine this succeeding and kids across the country learning the Walmart Carol? Does it matter?
Blythe Elementary is part of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, i.e. the public school system for Mecklenburg county, North Carolina. A district spokesperson was quick to point out to parents that the concert in question will not take place on school property but at the Huntersville Walmart.

The song was the students' way of thanking the store for its generosity in contributing school supplies, teacher incentives, and other supports for the neighborhood elementary school.
Right, I’m sure this was all the kids’ idea.
When Starbucks takes a snowflake off of its holiday cups, there’s a howl of anger from the right about this being proof that the company 'hates Jesus'. But when Walmart pulls a stunt like this, it’s just business as usual.
