Less than a year ago Rudy Giuliani was telling us Putin is what a "real leader" looks like. Lindsey Graham clutched his pearls in admiration. McCain practically saluted. Fox News wished he could run for President. That camp has grown rather quiet.
Boris Nemtsov wasn't exactly one of Putin's admirers. He may have been Putin's most vocal opposition. Putin has been riding a wave of popularity in Russia, but that wave is becoming increasingly unsurfable. Russian antics in Ukraine are not drawing praise from our European allies. That campaign has also been losing popularity among Russian citizens as the foundations of the Russian economy crumbles beneath them. Recently Russian debt was downgraded to junk status. And why is that? The sanctions imposed on Russia by that whimp, Obama, with the co-operation of his simpering appeasers in western Europe are becoming an ever tightening noose around Putin's neck.
The last thing the former KGB agent needs is a critic, someone who would draw attention to the fact that the shirtless emperor is actually stark naked.
Well, Nemtsov is dead. Murdered. KGB style.Putin, himself, is taking charge of the investigation. After all, what else would a real leader do?
Surely, this decisive action is worthy of Republican praise. What's that I hear?
