PENSACOLA, Fla. — Seven Marines and four aircrew are presumed dead Wednesday after an Army helicopter crashed during a training exercise at Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle, a military official told the Associated Press.
The area where the crash happened Tuesday night was under a fog advisory. The extreme fog still present early Wednesday was affecting the search, Eglin public affairs specialist Sara Vidoni said.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was reported missing around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and search and rescue crews found debris from the crash around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Bourland said.
Search and rescue efforts are still underway at the site of the crash — a remote swath of beach between Pensacola and Destin. The beach is owned by the military and is used for test missions.

Human remains have washed up on shore but the number of remains has not be released at this time. This is still considered a search and rescue mission.

7:11 AM PT: No new information has come out in awhile. I can't help but agree with the official presumption... The cries of survivors would have been heard through the dense fog. My heart goes out the the friends and families. Godspeed to the rescuers.

12:24 PM PT: The Pensacola News Journal has addes the updated their article. In summary, the fog has lifted, aircraft have joined the search, the search area has been expanded, and a large piece of helicopter has washed ashore.
